The publication "UNTER DRUCK" is a research project in 19 chapters that explores the similarities between competitive sport and livestock farming. In her search for answers, author Valérie Hug combines the memories and stories of two athletes with elements of theory and discourse. She draws on the relationship between humans and animals, research into cases of abuse in competitive sport, and facts from the livestock industry. Presented in a concise format, the publication's visual language is characterised by the overwhelming external influences on the athletes, and a clear division between personal narratives and statistical data.
